How To Clean Ray Ban Sunglasses - Ultimate Guide

Once upon a time manufactured by Bausch & Lomb, the insanely popular Ray Ban are just as loved today, when they’re made by Luxottica. But not even the best sunglasses on earth will give you the best experience if you don’t know how to take good care of them.

So, when it comes to the Ray-Bans, while you don’t need to anticipate complicated cleaning routines, you still need to make yourself a habit of cleaning their lenses the right way. Not sure what that means? We’re going to show you below, so stick with us!

How To Clean Ray Ban Sunglasses

  • Never use cloths that are not specifically made for lens cleaning;
    • Instead, go to the nearest optical shop and get yourself a special cleaning microfiber cloth – it won’t cost you an arm and a leg, and you’re guaranteed to make good use of it for a very long time;
  • Never clean the lenses when they are completely dried;
  • Always begin with a quick visual inspection, to see if there’s anything glued to the lenses;
  • Proceed to placing the sunglasses underneath the waterflow from the sink while gently rubbing their lenses with your fingers;
    • This will ensure that whatever larger residue is on the lens, it won’t stay there and won’t spread on the lens when you use the cloth;
  • Then, proceed to wiping the lens with the special eyeglass cleaning cloth – a side-to-side motion is the best way to go about it;
  • Wait a few seconds for the lenses to dry really well;
  • Then, run another quick visual inspection to see if there aren’t any smudges left;
    • If that’s the case, prepare some warm soapy water with just a drop of mild liquid dish soap;
    • Dip the Ray Bans in that water and liquid soap solution and then take them out;
    • Again, rub them with the cleaning cloth, insisting in the areas where you noticed the smudges;
  • When you’re done with the lenses, close the frames by folding the arms and clean the hinges, too;
    • While at it, check the hinges for any residue or buildup;
  • Then, take a look at the nose pieces, to see if there’s any grimy stuck in there;
  • If necessary, use a small screwdriver to unscrew them, clean the residues, and screw them back;
    • Finally, rinse the sunglasses with clean cold water;
  • Use a clean dry cloth to give them a final rub;
  • If, by any chance, you’ll spot any buff or fingerprint on it at this stage, feel free to insist with a clean corner of the cloth to remove those too.

And that’s just about all on how to clean your Ray Ban sunglasses by the book. It might look like a lot of steps, but rest assured that you’ll get into the habit soon enough.
